Commons Is As Commons Does.
We intend this website to be a hybrid—part wiki, part magazine, part portal to all things commons. We have done our best to design a contemporary, accessible, visually appealing site that consolidates a variety of knowledge and discourse about the commons. We have started the process of showcasing commons champions, working commons models and successes. Now it is your turn to participate, discuss, and fill this new commons space.
OntheCommons.org community member accounts are intended for commoners to share opinions and resources. The following Community Guidelines are offered to define what it means to be a member of OntheCommons.org. Your participation in this website is subject to these Guidelines and our Terms of Use.

We encourage lively discussion. However, please be polite and respectful in the content that you contribute and in your interactions. We would like many types of people to feel comfortable here—even when they don’t see eye to eye.
Please take responsibility for tagging your contributions—select topics from the list and add tag words of your own. As new material is posted and tagged, the editors will learn what is going on in the field. This website is meant to be a shared and growing resource, with lots of room for decentralized input, so don’t be surprised if we contact you to learn more about your areas of interest—or even to ask you to be a volunteer editor.
If you post images, please use only your own or Creative Commons-licensed resources and include the appropriate credit.
If you include a link to another website, please check to be sure it works.
When you post content it will be held temporarily in a queue until the editors have read it to see if it passes minimum suitability standards, as outlined in the terms of use. For the most part, your submission will be posted if you:
Welcome. See you around the website!
