Who's That Man? What's The Book?

Bill Clinton spotted carrying Peter Barnes' new book on commons solutions

The new book by On the Commons' co-founder Peter Barnes has found it way into the hands of Bill Clinton (see photo).

Liberty and Dividends For All offers a commons-based solution for the crisis of declining family income: paying a modest annual income to everyone out of money raised through use of common resources owned by us all. This is not some pie-in-the-sky fantasy.  It's already happening in one of America's most conservative states, Alaska.  Under the Alaska Permanent Fund plan, devised by former Republican governor Jay Hammond, every adult and child in the state receives between $1000 and $3000 yearly from the sale of oil on state-owned land.

That can really help low- and middle-income families make ends meet, Barnes writes in this excerpt from his book.
